Behold the Lamb of God!

Christmas is almost here. This time of year should cause us to reflect on the work that Christ has done for us. Many Bible verses come to mind that speak of Christ and His redemptive work. One of these is John 1:29: ” Behold the lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world.” I have become familiar with this verse after having sung it as a chorus in Handel’s Messiah many times. It seems to me that this song and the verse it is based on hold the key to what the Christmas season is about....
