Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using https://prc-resources.org (“the Service”) you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

PR Resources is a volunteer-run search tool indexing publicly available Protestant Reformed theological content — articles, sermons, journals, books, and confessions. We are not a publisher and do not own the indexed content. See our Copyright Notice for details on how we handle third-party material.

3. Accounts

  • You must provide a working email and set a password. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure.
  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
  • You may delete your account at any time at Account Settings. Deletion is permanent.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, spam the Service, abuse rate limits, or attempt to evade security measures.

4. User-Generated Content

“UGC” means anything you create on the Service: personal notes, reading-list names, custom tags, feature requests, and contact-form messages.

  • You retain copyright in your UGC. You grant PR Resources a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store and display your UGC solely to provide the Service to you (notes remain private to your account).
  • You agree not to post UGC that is illegal, abusive, harassing, infringing, defamatory, or spam.
  • We may remove UGC at our discretion, with or without notice, if it violates these Terms.

5. AI Features — Disclaimer

The Service uses third-party AI models (OpenAI and Anthropic) to generate resource summaries, answer theological questions on /ask, and power /api/chat.

AI output is generated automatically and may be incomplete, misleading, or incorrect. It is not pastoral counsel, not authoritative Protestant Reformed teaching, and must not be relied on for doctrinal decisions. Always verify AI responses against the cited original sources. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any AI-generated output.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Scrape the Service faster than normal human use or with automated tooling we have not sanctioned.
  • Attempt to bypass rate limiting, captcha, or other protective measures.
  • Probe, scan, or test security vulnerabilities without prior written permission.
  • Use the Service to distribute malware or phishing links.
  • Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation.
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law or infringes the rights of others.

7. Intellectual Property — Indexed Content

The Service indexes content from sources including but not limited to RFPA, PRCA.org, CPRC, SermonAudio, and Beacon Lights. All indexed content remains the property of its respective authors and publishers. See our Copyright Notice for our approach.

To submit a DMCA or copyright takedown request, use the contact form with the information described on the Copyright Notice page. We respond to valid notices promptly.

8. Third-Party Services

Links to external sites (RFPA, SermonAudio, PRCA, CPRC, and others) are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of external sites.

9. No Warranty

The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee uptime, completeness, or accuracy.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PR Resources and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

11. Changes to these Terms

Material changes will be announced via email to registered users at least 14 days before taking effect. The latest version is always at https://prc-resources.org/terms.

12. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by {{GOVERNING_LAW}}. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in that territory.
