This article by Cory Griess, a professor at Protestant Reformed Theological Seminary, responds to a December 2024 WOOD TV news report on sexual abuse in the PRCA by arguing that the denomination has already moved toward public handling of such cases rather than concealment. Griess examines the evidence within the news report itself to demonstrate the PRC's official commitment to transparent discipline and protection of the flock, challenging the impression that abuse cases remain hidden in darkness.

INTRODUCTION On December 10, 2024, WOOD TV 8 in Grand Rapids aired a three-part special report on sexual abuse in the PRCA under the title, "Private Sins."
