This article examines Christ's priesthood through the lens of Melchizedek typology in Hebrews 7, arguing that Melchizedek prefigures Jesus Christ as the ultimate priest whose office supersedes the Aaronitic priesthood. The author demonstrates how Christ's priesthood is grounded in Old Testament prophecy and typology, and is superior in antiquity, holiness, and efficacy to the flawed Jewish priesthood of the Old and New Testament periods.
