Matthew DeBoer provides an expository study of Samgar, the third judge of Israel (Judges 3:31), examining his role in delivering Israel from Philistine oppression within the cyclical pattern of the judges narrative. The article demonstrates how Samgar's deliverance of God's people from earthly enemies typologically points to Christ's salvation of believers from spiritual enemies—sin and Satan.
