O little town of Bethlehem, lying in the shadow of Jerusalem! What is Bethlehem when compared to Zion, the city of the great King? But Bethlehem, though least among the thousands of Judah, would have a place in the history of redemption. Out of this small city was one to come forth to be ruler in Israel. No ordinary king, but one whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. Bethlehem -- not Jerusalem -- was to have honored guests: wise men from the east, to bow before this Ruler....
