A crisis of authority (3): Essentials of ecclesiastical authority
Rev. Joshua Engelsma examines the nature of ecclesiastical authority in the Protestant Reformed Church, distinguishing authority (the right to rule) from power (the ability to accomplish tasks). This article is the first in a series addressing dangers related to church authority and laying out biblical principles for how pastors, elders, deacons, and church members should relate to one another within the church structure.
