Now the purpose is that in these words Jesus might reveal Himself in His divine fullness. That He is the beginning of the creation of God points Him out to us as the eternal and all-sufficient one, who possesses and controls all things in heaven and on earth, and at the same time as the one by whom and for whom, all things are created in heaven and on earth.
