This article defends the Protestant Reformed position on tradition against Roman Catholic claims, arguing that while Scripture is supreme, Christians may legitimately hold to secondary traditions that are consistent with biblical teaching. The author uses biblical exegesis of 2 Thessalonians 2:15 and historical examples to distinguish Reformed understanding of tradition from Rome's equal veneration of Scripture and Sacred Tradition, particularly regarding doctrines like transubstantiation and Marian dogmas.

Holding the Traditions (1) Scripture (God’s hammer) is the more sure word that shall never pass away, for it is God-breathed and unbreakable.
