Temptations: “Put to Grief by Manifold Temptations” (Pet. 1:5)

"Put to grief, for a little while, by manifold tempta­tions. If so be the will of God." This statement is called for by the foregoing one that reads, "Who -- the apostle's Christian brethren -- are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation . . . wherein ye greatly rejoice."
