This article defends the Canons of Dort against the criticism that Reformed creeds provide no basis for missionary work, arguing that the Canons actually addresses missions both explicitly and implicitly while refuting Arminianism. Kleyn contends that accusations of Reformed creeds hindering missions are ultimately accusations against the Synod of Dort itself, and explores what the Canons teaches about the church's calling to missionary endeavor.

This year and next mark the 400th anniversary of the Synod of Dordt. One of the most significant labors of that Synod was to compose and adopt the Canons of Dordt.
