This editor's note introduces a special journal issue dedicated to the persecuted church worldwide, featuring first-hand accounts from Christians facing hostility in various international contexts. The editor emphasizes how understanding persecution should motivate readers to intercede in prayer for suffering believers globally, while respecting the anonymity of contributors who face active threats.
In this special issue we seek to draw attention to the persecuted church worldwide. Our initial plan involved a variety of articles from a biblical, theological, historical, and practical viewpoint. However, we decided that our readers would benefit most from a wide variety of first-hand accounts of developing hostility toward Christianity around the globe.
