Oecolampadius: Father of Reformed Church Discipline

We can be very thankful that God raised up a man such as Oecolampadius to study the doctrine of church discipline and develop it for proper use in the church. He was a shepherd and heart. He brought to light the pastoral nature of church discipline, in contrast to the false idea that church discipline is punishment.
