Love and Tolerance

What can we say to convince someone who believes that love is allowing people to do whatever they want as long as it’s not hurting anyone else?    We cannot convince anyone of anything by ourselves. We can only bring the truth of God’s word, which is that the definition “allowing people to do whatever they want” is certainly not what the Bible means by love.
