Dykstra argues that missions is the essential work of the church as a whole, carried out through ordained ministers who are sent by the institutional church under the Holy Spirit's direction. He encourages church members to actively participate in and support mission work by taking personal interest, visiting mission fields, and recognizing that missionary efforts belong to the entire body of believers, not just professional missionaries.
