This article by Douglas Kuiper explains the governing principles behind the interdenominational Psalter revision committee's proposed changes to the musical settings of Psalter numbers. The author presents data on singing frequency across Protestant Reformed Churches to support the case that certain underutilized Psalter numbers would benefit from new tunes that better serve both the lyrics and congregational participation.
