The closing remark of our former article was that man committed a heinous sin against God when he ate of the forbidden tree. Let us now contemplate the meaning of man's deed. When man ate, he became as God to know good and evil. So we are informed. And the Lord God said, "Behold, man is become as one of us, to know good and evil" (Gen. 3:24). It must not be supposed that God concedes that man is now His equal. What is meant is that man like God knows good and evil. And that is man's sin....
