In this Passion season, the most joyous season of all, it is well for us to dwell on the true meaning and significance of the cross and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.  In a word the true meaning and significance is, Love.  If they mean or signify anything but the sovereign particular eternal love of God for his chosen people through Christ, they are absolutely meaningless.  Because God has shed His Love abroad in us, his chosen people, we are commanded to love God above all gratuitously...
