The most important thing that the Bible says about preaching is that it is the way in which God’s people hear the voice of Christ Himself. Jesus tells us that we do hear His voice and must hear it in John 10:27. That we hear His voice in the preaching, is clear from other passages (Rom. 1:16, 17; 10:13, 14; I Cor. 1:18, 23, 24; Eph. 2:17).
