Rev. Cornelius Hanko expounds Romans 8:12-13, exploring the believer's obligation to live by the Spirit rather than the flesh in light of the hope of eternal glory. This practical sermon emphasizes how the assurance of being in Christ Jesus and possessing the Spirit should motivate daily mortification of sin and spiritual growth.

Rev. Cornelius Hanko (12 June, 1955) Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live (Rom. 8:12-13). This “therefore” that introduces our text is very emphatic.
