Huizinga examines the doctrine of total depravity by demonstrating how sin—understood as universal warfare against God and His law—manifests itself throughout human society and culture. Using contemporary news events as illustrations, he argues that sinful rebellion against God's order pervades all of human life, from entertainment to sports, showing that natural man is fundamentally opposed to his Maker rather than merely separated from Him. The article equips Reformed Christians to read current events through a biblical lens that recognizes the pervasive nature of man's enmity against God.
