For the Christian to grow and develop in this aspect of the fruit of the Spirit it is necessary that we know what it is and how we obtain it. To be longsuffering is to be patient in bearing the offences and injuries of others. It is to be mild and slow in avenging, i.e. slow to anger and slow to punish.
