On January 20, 1961, John F. Kennedy posed a thought-provoking question for Americans to ask themselves in his inaugural address: “Ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country.” Many years later, we can take this question and apply it to ourselves within our friendships and communities. It isn’t about what you or I can get from a friendship or a particular church; the better question to ponder on is, “What can I do for my friend group or church or community?”...
