Editor’s Notes This issue of the Protestant Reformed Theological Journal begins by paying tribute to a key figure in the reform movement within the Reformed church in the Netherlands in 1834, the movement known as the Afscheiding. That key figure is Simon van Velzen (1809-1896), who was early on a pastor in the Afscheiding churches and in 1854 became one of the four original faculty members of the Theological School of the Christelijke Gereformeerde Kerk in Nederland estab- lished in Kampen....
