Centuries ago, one of the ancient generals–Hannibal–used a large number of elephants while invading Italy. Imagine the great consternation of the small Italian (Roman) soldier when faced by such a large lumbering creature carrying three or four fully armed soldiers in a small tower-like enclosure on its back!
