A Reverie
These days I came across a curious bit of writing. You must know that there is an old newspaperman, wise in the ways of the world, named Edgar W. Howe, who writes little paragraphs for the newspapers. These paragraphs comprise bits of quaint philosophy, searching self-analysis, candid statements of matters as Mr. Howe sees them, as well as judgments on things, oft- times pregnant with rare surprises or fraught with unpleasant shocks for complacent man.
