This article reports on the 2016 synod meeting of the Protestant Reformed Churches in America, describing its organizational structure, leadership, and opening worship service. The synodical worship service, based on Ephesians 5:32, emphasized the covenantal relationship between Christ and the church as the foundation for faithful living and church work. The piece provides insight into the Presbyterian polity and governance of the PRCA through its classis and synodical system.

As president of last year's synod, Rev. S. Key (pastor of the Protestant Reformed Church in Loveland, CO) led the pre-synodical worship service. The service was held in the sanctuary of the calling church for Synod 2016, the Protestant Reformed Church of Hull, Iowa.
