This article introduces a study of the Bible's teaching on eschatology. The word "eschatology" comes from the Greek word in the New Testament meaning 'last': eschatos. I John 2:18 speaks of the "last time" (literally: "hour"). I Peter 1:20 refers to the "last times." John 6:39 teaches the "last day" (see John 6:44, 54; John 12:48). Jude 18 mentions the "last time."
