This article addresses how believers come to understand the doctrine of creation through faith rather than empirical observation, contrasting the Christian worldview with naturalistic science. Laning argues that since no human witnessed God's creative acts, we must accept the truth of creation solely on the basis of Scripture's testimony, exemplifying the Reformed principle of "walking by faith, not by sight."
