August 8—Judgement for the Oppressed Read Deuteronomy 24 Psalm 103:6 declares, “The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.” And in Isaiah 1:16–17 Jehovah commands his people, “Cease to do evil…learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.” Deuteronomy 24 is a list of laws instituted to protect the poor and the oppressed in Israel.
