Miersma's meditation on Proverbs 18:10 exhorts the church to place its confidence in God's name rather than worldly securities or material riches as the new year begins. Through careful exposition of the proverb's contrasts, he calls believers to embrace the sovereign protection and refuge found only in God, rejecting the world's vain pursuit of temporal happiness and false security.
