Ahead with Confidence

A satire on that familiar piece of doggerel, “Little Bo-Peep,” has a section where the comic treats the phrase, “they (the sheep) will return, wagging their tails behind them.”  He asks in mock horror, “And where do you suppose they might be wagging their tails?  In front of them?”  In a similar vein, one might ask where else we can go as an old year dies and a new year is born – “Backward?” If the appeal to press on were aimed at young people in general, just-any-old young people, the sarcasm...
