The Bible presents the coming of Christ into this world as the Son of God, and His reception from men as it truly is. In the first place, we may say that His coming into the world was the fulfillment of the gospel promise, which was first of all revealed by God in paradise, afterwards proclaimed through patriarchs and prophets, portrayed through sacrifices and other ceremonies of the law, and finally fulfilled in His well-beloved Son.
