Rev. Angus Stewart traces the theological roots of modern Charismatic Christianity back to John Wesley, arguing that contemporary Pentecostalism, Charismaticism, and Neo-Charismaticism are fundamentally Arminian movements that reject God's sovereign grace and election. The article defends Reformed doctrine by contrasting the biblical teaching of God's absolute sovereignty in salvation with the man-centered theology prevalent in renewal movements.
