March 20, 1943 Dear Fellows: As you may notice by the date of this letter, officially it is almost springtime.  But there is quite a difference, here in Grand Rapids at least, between the official time and the actual looks of things.  It looks a good deal more like winter than like spring.  A rather long and severe winter we had.
