The 2,200 council fathers met in St. Peter’s Basilica were addressed by the ailing Pontiff in their last meeting of the year 1962.  This council, which has been called by Pope John XXIII is dedicated to the proposition that all faiths and all men shall ultimately be united in one great world church.
