The message of the prophet. The view that the ut­terances of the prophet had to be predictive in order to deserve the name of prophesy is in the light of the fore­going a thoroughly mistaken idea. Christ was pre­eminently the prophet of the Lord yet a comparatively small part of his discourses were predictive in the narrow sense.
