The Good Shepherd

“I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.”  John 10:11 In this passage from the gospel of John, Jesus is addressing the Jews and is stressing the truth that He is the Messiah. The promised Messiah had come and this is He, Jesus of Nazareth. As the Messiah Jesus was, of course, the Good Shepherd, who was to give His life for the sheep.
