This report documents the September 2014 meeting of Classis West of the Protestant Reformed Churches, highlighting an officebearers conference focused on sermon preparation and Christ-centered preaching, as well as the examination and approval of Joshua Engelsma for pastoral ministry. The resource provides insight into the practical workings of Presbyterian church polity and the denomination's emphasis on excellent preaching as central to the church's ministry.

As a general rule, the pastors of our churches in Classis West look forward to a meeting of Classis. If the great distance between our churches can be called a chasm to fellowship, the meetings of Classis are the bridge.
