The gospel declares that all of our salvation is in Jesus Christ. This is true from a legal point of view. By nature we are guilty, dead in sin, worthy of the wrath of God. In Adam we all died. There is nothing we can do to erase that guilt. In fact, all we can do is add to it. The natural mind according to Romans 8:7 is hatred against God and it is not subject to God's law, neither indeed can be. By God's grace, however, we are from eternity chosen in Christ Jesus and justified in His blood....
