A Word About Unitarianism
The first distinctively liberal movement in America was the Unitarian movement.1 Aside from any movement, unitarianism was and is to be found in Arianism, Deism, Humanism, Judaism, Modal Monarchianism, Mohammedanism and Socinianism. We might say that today the Christadelphians, Christian Scientists and the Russellites are really unitarian.
