Pastor Joshua Engelsma examines the relationship between good works and assurance of salvation in light of the Protestant Reformed Churches' 2024 Synodical decisions regarding the role of works in salvation. This editorial clarifies the proper Reformed understanding that good works, while essential to the Christian life, do not function as faith does in justification, addressing erroneous statements that conflated the necessity and place of works with faith in salvation.
