I recall studying in the history of our country the account of peoples of many lands emigrating to this land "of freedom." It seemed to me a moving event when these individuals entered the harbor at New York and beheld the Statue of Liberty welcoming them to their new homeland. The poem affixed to that Statue contains the stirring lines, "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. . . ."
