Jehovah Afflicted In All Our Affliction
“In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old” (Isaiah 63:9). Introduction Isaiah wrote to God’s people Israel when they were in great need of comfort from heaven. When Isaiah prophesied, Israel (or, at least, Judah) was still a nation, but their future was very bleak. It would take several generations, but eventually Israel would go into captivity....
