The Confession of Guanabara (1558) is the first Protestant writing in the Americas, a courageous creedal statement written by French Huguenot martyrs who knew they were signing their death warrant. The confession articulates Reformed doctrine on the Trinity, Christology, and the nature of worship, serving as both a theological defense and a powerful historical witness to early Protestant faithfulness in the New World.

The Guanabara Confession of Faith was the first Protestant writing in the Americas (1558). It was written by French Huguenots, Jean du Bourdel, Matthieu Verneuil, Pierre Bourdon and André la Fon, who were taken under arrest by Villegagnon, in Brazil, answering some specific points given to them in writing.
