A Powerful Member
James in the third chapter of his epistle speaks of the tongue as the most powerful member of our body. In verse five we read: “Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!” James uses a figure of a ship at sea driven by fierce winds in verse four.
