Apology re. Witsius
An apology and retraction by a Reformed minister for a series of articles defending Herman Witsius against charges of heterodoxy regarding the role of good works in salvation. The author, after consultation with his consistory and synod, acknowledges that Witsius's statements contradict the decisions of Synod 2018 and Reformed confessional standards, and that his articles inadvertently promoted erroneous doctrine on sanctification and the relation of works to salvation.
The purpose of this letter is to apologize.
