The burden which Habakkuk the prophet did see. Habakkuk 1:1 Who was Habakkuk? He is mentioned twice in the book as the author (1:1; 3:1) and in both cases is called "the prophet" indicating that he was a prophet for life, unlike Amos, who was a herdsman called to bring the Word of God. Habakkuk 3:1 and 19 suggest the possibility that he was also a Levite and among the temple musicians.
