We now again come to an incident in Abraham's career demonstrative of a faltering faith. Having taken up his residence in Gerar, between Kadesh and Shur, Abraham, fearful of his life, circulated about that Sarah was his sister. This subterfuge, here practiced for the second time, shows that Sarah in spite of her years was, to use an expression of Scripture, "a fair woman to look upon."
