Editor’s Notes
Russell Dykstra's editor's notes introduce a special issue of the Standard Bearer devoted to the French Reformation, a neglected aspect of 16th-century Protestant history that deserves recognition as part of the church's unified heritage. The notes explain the issue's purpose to fill knowledge gaps about Reformed Christianity in France and highlight the unique work of Christ in reforming His church in that historical context.
What comes to mind when you hear (or read) of "the French Reformation"? Most, I suspect, have little knowledge of this aspect of the sixteenth-century Reformation that began in Wittenberg (Luther), and spread through many countries in Europe.
